What You'll Do
- Configure and program HVAC building automation and control systems (direct digital controls) and create sequence of operations.
- Develop and test software programs to operate the system.
- Apply field change information for as-built drawings and software.
- Perform tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including: system programming, integration, system and network commissioning and project closeout.
- Complete hardware design and software programming using established standards.
- Manage and complete the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required.
- Validate complete system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation.
- Provide accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation.
- Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system in full or with assistance.
- Ensure owner/operator has been trained.
- Provide proper documentation and manuals for system operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in (mechanical) engineering or equivalent training and experience in a similar field.
- 3+ years of technical, hands-on experience with systems design, commissioning and programming of digital HVAC controls systems.
- Proficiency working with Alerton, Tridium, or Siemens required.
- Knowledge of the concepts of HVAC controls in new construction, renovation/retrofit project types, components, and systems with the ability to program and commission pre and post installation, preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the schedules given by leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and autonomously and take ownership of all tasks.
Physical Demands
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
- Travel to customer job sites which requires the ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions.
- Must be able to maintain a professional appearance.
- May be required to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company.
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.
