About the role

Delaware North Gaming is seeking a full-time Cook to join their team at Southland Casino in West Memphis, Arkansas.

Responsibilities

• Take your culinary career to the next level by assisting in training team members
• Prepare food to comply with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintain proper food temperatures, store food correctly, ensure the freshness and quality of all menu items, and package products to proper specifications
• Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and stocked
• Follow waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
• Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and conduct end-of-day inventory

Requirements

• At least 1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house foodservice position
• Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
• Basic math skills to calculate and follow recipe measurements
• No high school diploma or GED required

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, reach up to seven feet, bend, and squat
• Standing and walking for the entire shift in moderate to high noise levels
• Manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip a variety of foods and liquids, and operate kitchen equipment
• Exposed to variable temperatures
