About the role
This position supports the New World screwworm response.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical support on procedural matters and complete required documents for submission.
- Makes sure reports are monitored and examined, advising on resource and program management.
- Retrieves and reviews FMMI reports and multiple program ledgers to ensure they are balanced and accounting data is valid.
- Identifies and corrects erroneous obligations, recommends changes to prevent recurrence, and reports findings.
- Maintains control systems for payment documents like Purchase Orders, VISA, Claims for Reimbursement, and Payment Receipts, ensuring timely processing.
- Reviews planned and committed ledger items, salary projections, agreements, and allocations.
Requirements
Individuals who were born male after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
Qualifications
- For the GS-5 level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-4 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public sectors, demonstrating:
- Reviewing vouchers, purchase requests, and contract invoices to verify budgetary account codes and dollar amounts.
- Adjusting account balances to reflect the effect of allotments, transfers, obligations, expenditures, and other actions that change the amount of funds available in accounts.
- Generating charts and reports utilizing pivot tables, Excel, or similar applications.
- Or 4 years of education above high school.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
- Combination of education and experience at the GS-5 grade level: Applicants may have combinations of successfully completed education and specialized experience to meet total qualification requirements. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level.
