About the Role

Join us in fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA), the Department of Defense’s constructive disruptor for space acquisition. SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter through the development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. Leveraging a unique business model, SDA emphasizes speed, cost efficiency, and resilience by integrating commercial development into a proliferated architecture.

We are seeking a Budget/Financial Analyst to support SDA’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Support activities involving the Government’s Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE).
  • Perform top-level PPBE analysis and support the development of RDT&E budget justification exhibits.
  • Translate program and technical requirements into acquisition, planning, public release documents, and correspondence in clear, concise, and compelling terms.
  • Develop and execute funding transfers (e.g., MIPRs) and conduct analysis using USSF financial systems.
  • Develop documentation for and assist with the execution of budget documents.
  • Create annual spend plans and provide monthly updates based on milestone payment projections.
  • Understand continuing resolution anomalies as they pertain to the availability of funds.
  • Proactively manage the spend plan to ensure contracts are funded adequately.
  • Act as a self-starter in problem-solving, collaborating with technical POCs to ensure budget requirements are met and risks are accounted for.
  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight, professionalism, and mature judgment in anticipating and resolving financial, business, administrative, or program management problems.
  • Develop, organize, forecast, and maintain financial budgets and track financial milestones.
  • Create and coordinate budget and acquisition documents, including organizing meetings as needed.
  • Understand DoD policies and regulations.
  • Perform configuration management functions as directed by the government, including reviewing deliverables for contract compliance and on-time CDRL delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience supporting space system development or the Department of Defense.
  • Hands-on proficiency using Microsoft Office tools, principally Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills.
  • Creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced organization.
  • TS with SCI eligibility.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. QinetiQ US considers several factors when extending an offer, including the role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
