About the role
This position performs independent professional work providing consultation and assistance to the Director of the Division of Administrative Services and Management of the Department.
Responsibilities
- Aid with reconciliations, financial reporting, budget projections, accounting data analysis and other duties as indicated.
- Aid or assist the Director in preparing the agency budget.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff in the unit.
- Reallocate workflow as needed to meet objectives.
- Ensure reporting requests are submitted timely to the Department leadership.
- Ensure property is recorded properly in the Departmental budget trackers.
- Formulate and coordinate the submission of the annual Long Range Program Plan (LRPP) and the annual Legislative Budget Request (LBR).
- Prepare, review, document, and manage the Division's operational processes.
- Analyze costs in relation to services performed during previous fiscal years to prepare comparative analyses of operating programs.
- Complete special projects/assignments at the direction of the Secretary’s Office and/or the Director of the Division of Administrative Services (or similar role).
- Maintain and track legislative bills and fiscal impact analyses as they relate to or impact the budgets or programs of the Department.
- Coordinate posting of budgetary transactions into Legislative Appropriations System/Planning and Budgeting Subsystem (LAS/PBS).
- Utilize the Budget Amendment Processing System (BAPS) to submit budget amendments and release requests on behalf of the Agency.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- A minimum of one year’s experience working within the Florida State budget process
- Experience with the Legislative Appropriations System/Planning and Budgeting Subsystem (LAS/PBS)
- Experience in Microsoft Excel and Access databases
