About the role
LC State invites applications for the position of Budget Analyst. Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $50,000 - $55,000.
Requirements
- Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Required Qualifications:
- Experience in finance and/or budgeting.
- Excellent ability to organize, plan, and manage complex projects along with a proven ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
- Involvement in an environment that requires maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
- Experience in an institution of higher education.
- Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague Finance module.
- Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations for management/administrators.
Qualifications
- Establish the processes for development of the CTE budget and assure those processes are carried out in a timely manner.
- Perform scenario planning with respect to CTE budget and related funds, including multi-year forecasts and trend analyses.
- Affiliate in preparation of tentative, interim, and final budget submissions for the State within established guidelines; review expenditures for programs to ensure proper budget compliance, with specialization in CTE (Funds 12 & 14).
- Responsibility for general accounting and related business processes of the Career and Technical Education division, including budget to actual analysis, account reconciliation review and journal entry preparation.
- Affiliate in the formulation and review of internal controls, policy guidelines, and internal forms.
- Monitor and prepare all CTE grant invoices, statements and deposits.
- Ensure that the College complies with state and federal policies and regulations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Support campus-wide fiscal operations through the Budget Office.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including regular reporting to the CTE Dean and the Office of the Provost.
