Job Description
Per diem instructors can, ideally, commit to 2-3 days per week - per 8 week term.
Facilitates high-quality, student-centered learning that prepares future nurses for competent, compassionate, and ethical practice. This role supports the mission of the institution by fostering academic excellence, professional integrity, and evidence-based practice in alignment with nursing standards, accreditation requirements, and institutional outcomes.
Job responsibilities
- Collaborate with other instructors in preparing, administering, and grading examinations for the course. Participate in the preparation of the final evaluations for the course.
- Responsible for assuring class attendance and grades are kept and submitted.
- Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure quality of program.
- Plan and implement orientation of new faculty in theory & clinical facilities for the courses.
- Utilize principles of teaching that recognize the characteristics of the adult learner.
- Maintain student records and assist with program data collection.
- Submit required program reports & forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner.
- Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations.
- Participate in committee activities that support the education program(s).
- Attend faculty meetings
- Plan and supervise student clinical experience in assigned health care facilities.
- Follow all policies and procedures established by Unitek Learning.
- Provide feedback on clinical performance or specific events immediately after observation.
- Ensure clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
- Determine best method to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
- Provide in-person and remote access to students for ongoing communication.
- Participate in student advising activities.
- The role requires on-site collaboration with students, faculty, and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years’ experience in direct patient care as an RN
- A BSN degree and a health-related Masters or Doctorate degree*
*Requirements vary based on the accrediting body for the BSN program.
