About the role
The BSA/AML Investigator I position at F&M Bank is responsible for ensuring strict adherence to the Bank's policies and procedures while adhering to federal/state regulatory requirements, focusing on comprehensive anti-money laundering and BSA investigations.
Responsibilities
- Affirmatively assist with high-risk customer reviews, including Cash Secured Loan reviews, Money Service Business reviews, CTR Exemption research, Political Campaign and Political Action Committee account reviews, and research and write reports as required.
- Investigate suspicious activity, manage the investigative process from initial detection to disposition, thoroughly and timely review reports and bank records, and provide case findings to the BSA/Fraud Department Manager for concurrence and/or feedback.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to work processes to increase department efficiency, using automated systems when appropriate.
- Maintain current desk procedures and coordinate information/changes with the appropriate Bank personnel and customers.
- Prioritize work assignments with changing priorities, demonstrate independent judgment, initiative, and tact, and maintain a professional, business-like demeanor.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and possess excellent organizational skills.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience specializing in banking, financial management, and BSA/AML.
- Proven knowledge of all applicable federal and state laws/regulations pertaining to BSA/AML, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC.
- Certified Anti-money Laundering Specialist Certification (CAMS) preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is preferred but not required.
- Successful completion of a credit check review is a condition of employment.
- Excellent organizational skills and special skills such as Internet Banking, Personal Computer use, Word Processing, E-mail, EXCEL, Access, and Data Entry.
