BRUSH DRAGGER

Responsibilities

• Collect and remove branches, limbs, and other debris from the work area.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment, such as chippers, stump grinders, and chainsaws.
• Maintain and fuel equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
• Cut and prune smaller branches and limbs using hand saws or chainsaws, under the supervision of tree climbers and arborists.
• Lower larger cut tree sections to the ground using ropes and pulleys.
• Handle ropes, pulleys, and other rigging equipment to assist tree climbers and arborists.
• Guide and control the movement of tree sections during tree removal or pruning operations.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines during tree care operations.
• Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, and sturdy footwear, is worn at all times.
• Maintain a safe work zone by cordoning off the area and ensuring the public's safety.
• Work closely with the rest of the tree care crew, including tree climbers, arborists, and supervisors, to ensure efficient and safe completion of tree care projects.
• Communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines.
• Basic understanding of tree care practices, including cutting and pruning branches and limbs under the supervision of tree climbers and arborists.
• Willingness to work closely with the tree care crew, including tree climbers, arborists, and supervisors, to ensure efficient task execution and a positive work environment.
• Commitment to “Guaranteed Safety” in all decisions and actions.
• Pass full-panel drug screen.
• Pass in-depth criminal background check.
