Brow Waxing Expert

About the Role

As an Arch Expert (AE) at Ulta Beauty, you will maximize sales in the Benefit brand by engaging guests to determine their individual needs, assisting in the selection and purchase of merchandise, and performing short services such as eyebrow/facial waxing and tinting. You will represent the image, products, and culture of the Benefit brand while supporting the Experience Manager (EM) through a focus on performance, guest service, and operational compliance. This role requires an active license in Esthetics or Cosmetology (as required by law), exceptional guest service, and a passion for learning and communicating product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performance:
  • Meet or exceed Benefit brand sales and service goals, contributing to the store’s retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel, and shrink targets.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and engaging every guest, personalizing service to their needs, and recommending complementary products, samples, and services.
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
  • Deliver short services at the Brow Bar, including eyebrow/facial waxing, tweezing, eyebrow tinting, strip lash applications, and threading, adhering to Ulta Beauty’s policies and procedures.
  • Use the appointment system to book guest appointments for services and events.
  • Meet sales per labor hour and sales-to-service ratio goals.
  • Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

  • Participate in ongoing Benefit and Ulta Beauty training, including team meetings and brand education, to drive professional development and sales performance.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and an active clientele portfolio for Benefit brand services.
  • Maintain relationships with Benefit brand partners through training participation and execution of in-store events and promotions.
  • Collaborate with Prestige consultants and salon professionals to promote teamwork and high-level customer service.
  • Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests.
  • Work with managers and associates across the store to help grow the business.
• Process:
  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and hygienic procedures before, during, and after services, complying with state board guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Ulta Beauty and Benefit brand dress code, including wearing brand assets as directed.
  • Keep the Brow Bar area replenished, signed, and faced, ensuring testers are available and maintained to hygiene standards.
  • Communicate supply needs to store management and brand representatives to ensure guest readiness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in assigned areas, including the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
  • Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing.
  • Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service.
  • Execute other operational tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Active license in Esthetics or Cosmetology (as required by state law).
• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience in makeup application, eyebrow/facial waxing, tweezing, and eyebrow tinting is preferred.
• Proficiency with equipment needed to perform technical work.

Working Conditions

• Continuous mobility during shift.
• Frequent standing, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, reaching, bending, and twisting.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift; ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
