Bronchoscopy Therapist
About the role

Responsibilities
- Administer diagnostic and therapeutic treatments with professionalism and expertise.
- Provide care modalities such as airway maintenance, cardio-respiratory drug administration, and cardio-respiratory monitoring, including ventilator management.
- Supervise in the absence of a Respiratory Supervisor.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with fellow associates, other hospital staff, and the Medical Staff.
- Perform high-level disinfection as needed.
- Train for and perform navigational/robotic, EBUS, therapeutic, and diagnostic bronchoscopies.
- Schedule all procedures in ProVation system.
- Contact physician offices for all outpatient paperwork if needed.
- Set up transport of patients and the procedure area prior to patient arrival.
- Assist anesthesia with patient induction.
- Turnover the procedure area post-bronchoscopy.
- Order and restock supplies in the Bronchoscopy room for all procedures.
- Coordinate vendors for assistance during special cases.
Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- RRT/RCP-State Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
- Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Certificate in Respiratory Therapy
- Florida Respiratory License - RRT
- 3 years experience as a Critical Care Therapist
- 5 years performing bronchoscopies specializing in EBUS/Navigational and BAL
Skills
Essential skills include assessing respiratory status, delivering evidence-based therapy, managing ventilation and airways, supporting patients and the care team, maintaining equipment and safety, and collaborating effectively.
