About the role

Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of home and community life for clients.
- Ensure consistent safety for clients.
- Provide a healthy and professional friendship.
- Help clients with personal hygiene and dressing.
- Schedule, attend, and report on medical and therapeutic appointments.
- Shop, cook, and clean with the client.
- Organize consistent exercise, socialization, and entertainment.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent education.
- One year of experience working with disabilities preferred, but not required.
- Car, driver’s license, proof of insurance.
- At least 18 years of age.
- A letter from a person and/or employer verifying experience.

Services provided include supported living, instructional care, employment, job coaching, health aid, personal care, transitional living services, caregivers, ILST (Independent Living Skills Trainers), PCA (Personal Care Assistant), DSP (Day Support Program), Companions, RA (Recovery Assistant), Behavioral Health, and CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
We partner with various organizations such as DSS (Connecticut Department of Social Services), DMHAS (Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services), CCC (Connecticut Community Care), CCCI (Allied Community Resources), SWCAA (Southwestern Connecticut Area on Aging), WCAAA (Western Connecticut Area on Ageing), and ACR (Allied Community Resources).
ABI Resources provides Disability Support Services across Connecticut through programs like Money Follows the Person and ABI Waiver Program.
