About the role
We are seeking a Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations in the field for a project in Cherry Valley, IL. This full-time, on-site role involves managing safety, quality, productivity, equipment, and subcontractors, as well as planning, scheduling, and cost estimation against project budgets.
Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
- Inspect Contractor or subcontractor operations to ensure compliance with contract
- Maintain good working relationships with all trades
- Develop and maintain site logistics plan in coordination with Project Manager
- Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material
- Communicate and enforce Judlau/OHL Safety and Health Management Program
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentoring others
- Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring activities stay on or ahead of scheduled dates
- Prepare and submit Superintendent's Daily Reports
- Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings
Requirements
- Proven track record and experience with Illinois Tollway and IDOT
- 10+ years of industry experience
- 4-year Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience
- Must be safety oriented; OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 Certification preferred
- Familiarity with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts, and Purchase Orders
- Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills

Pay
Minimum Salary USD $140,000.00/Yr. Maximum Salary USD $180,000.00/Yr.
Work Environment
The employee will require the ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
