Bridge Inspector Team Leader
About the role
The position requires a New York State PE license and will work out of our 5th Avenue office. This position is for an individual with solid experience looking to challenge themselves on a professional level on a variety of bridge assessment and evaluation projects, and leading project teams.
Responsibilities
- Field inspection of various size bridges including but not limited to suspension, major bridge viaducts and crossings in the New York City (NYC) Metro.
- Meet the demands of high-profile clients, including NYSDOT, Port Authority of NY & NJ, MTA Bridge and Tunnel Authority TBTA, and NYCDOT.
- Bridge condition evaluation, documentation, field coordination, and directing the inspection team.
Requirements
- Completed 2-week NHI Course No. 130055, or the 5-day NHI Course No. 130056 and NHI Course No. 130078.
- Preferred: SPRAT-Certified Level I Technician or willingness to attend training for certification.
- Preferred: OSHA 30 and Aerial Lift Certified.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work on flexible hours including nights and weekends.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and Microsoft Office.
- Local NYC metro area experience and experience with NYSDOT, Port Authority of NY&NJ, MTA Bridge and Tunnel Authority TBTA, and NYCDOT are preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New York.
- A minimum of 7 years of structural engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge inspection.
