Bridge Inspection Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader for our Carolinas Region located in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced level in-depth safety inspections on various bridge structures in North Carolina
• Prepare detailed inspection reports for evaluating the structural integrity and load-bearing capacity of bridges
• Train new inspectors and lead the team during inspections
• Schedule and coordinate inspections, personnel, vendors, and stakeholders
• Operate access equipment and other necessary tools for inspections
• Carry out inspections in hazardous environments such as traffic congestion, working on slopes, and at considerable heights

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of experience in bridge inspections, with a minimum of 1 year as a qualified NBIS Team Leader
• Advanced knowledge of NBIS and strong writing and communication skills
• Completion of relevant courses such as NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges, NBIS Bridge Inspection Course, and Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges
• Prior experience with NHI Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges and Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures is preferred but not required
• A valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR

Qualifications

• Must have a current EIT or P.E. license
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening
