Bridge Inspection Team Leader

About the role

Lead bridge and sign-structure inspection projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead project and inspection teams, coordinating personnel and equipment.
• Prepare in-office support for field inspections, including development of inspection documentation forms.
• Perform field inspection duties and subsequent inspection reports in compliance with client requirements.
• Serve as client field liaison for field activities.
• Enforce safe field operations and provide technical guidance to other staff members.
• Travel to required project locations.

Requirements

• Active New York and New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 4 years of recent bridge inspection experience as a Team Leader.
• Current FHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Training (2-Week Bridge Safety Training, NHI-130055) and/or Refresher Course (NHI-130053).
• Current FHWA/NHI Ancillary Structures Training (NHI-130087).
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Physically capable of performing tasks associated with the position, including working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and various aerial lifts.
• Familiarity with NJTA, NJDOT, PANYNJ, NYSDOT, and other New York and New Jersey agencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong MicroStation/AutoCAD skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Pay

Expected salary range is $125,000 – $175,000 annually, dependent on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and physical work location.
