What You’ll Do
- Serve as inspection team leader or team member on routine bridge and ancillary structure inspections (including sign and lighting structures), primarily in Illinois.
- Occasionally assist with inspections across the Midwest and Texas.
- Develop detailed inspection reports and documentation.
- Apply structural engineering principles to bridge inspection and design projects.
- Perform load rating calculations and support design efforts.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and timely project delivery.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- EIT certification required; PE preferred; SE highly desirable.
- Engineering technicians with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- 2+ years of experience in bridge inspection and/or bridge design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude, commitment to quality, and excellent work ethic.
- Ability and willingness to travel for inspections.
- Completion of NHI courses for Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges and Ancillary Highway Structures (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform field inspections.
- Travel required for site visits and inspections.
