Bridge Engineer, Project Manager & Kansas Section Leader

Responsibilities

• Aid in the design and creation of transportation projects for DOT, turnpike, county, and municipal clients.
• Oversee the project management and planning phases of bridge projects from initial scoping through final design plans.
• Lead, guide, and instruct production staff in the design process.
• Maintain and develop relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact.
• Create and present project proposals, conduct interviews, and deliver client presentations.
• Attend client meetings to ensure designs meet their needs and objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in DOT, turnpike, municipal, and county-related transportation projects.
• Prior experience in bridge design and/or roadway design, including knowledge of bridge hydraulics.
• Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation products (OpenRoads, InRoads, or Geopak).
• Knowledge of and/or experience with software such as MDX, LEAP Bridge, OpenBridge Designer, BRASS-CULVERT, LARSA, and BAR7.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Preferred PE license in Kansas (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).
• Knowledge of local standards and requirements is beneficial.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent in presentation, written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Able to manage deadlines, make independent decisions, demonstrate good business judgment, and handle confidential information appropriately.
