Responsibilities

• Design bridges, culverts, and retaining walls
• Plan production including 3D Modeling and CADD
• Perform load rating analysis of bridges
• Utilize structural design software
• Prepare structural evaluation studies, structure-type studies, and similar reports
• Compute estimated quantities, plan notes, and develop cost estimates
• Conduct site visits to support the design process
• Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including coordination with state and local officials and other outside agencies and sub-consultants
• Participate in business development efforts and meet with clients
• This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) License, required
• 5+ years of engineering experience, which must include bridge design and plan production
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
• Familiarity with AASHTO bridge design standards
• Experience with computer software such as OpenRoads, AutoCAD, OpenBridge Designer, AASHTOWare BrR
• Experience as Bridge Inspection Team Leader is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
