Responsibilities

  • Active participation in the design and delivery of bridge projects, including new bridge design, rehabilitation, widening, and related transportation structures.
  • Structural analysis and design development.
  • Bridge plan production.
  • Load rating and shop drawing review.
  • Quality control and coordination with project teams and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Arkansas or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive bridge/structural design experience.
  • Strong verbal communication, technical writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenBridge for bridge layout, modeling, and plan production.
  • Proficiency in bridge analysis, design, and load rating software such as LEAP Bridge Steel, CSI Bridge, AASHTOWare Bridge Design and Rating, or similar tools used for ARDOT bridge projects.
  • Working knowledge of ARDOT design standards and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience delivering bridge projects for ARDOT and/or other state DOT clients.
  • Valid driver’s license.
