MJ is actively seeking a bridge engineer to join our team to assist with current and exciting future projects. This job offering provides an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to grow and advance in MJ’s bridge and engineering practices.
Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and have strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills. As bridge engineer, you will progress design concepts through design development and work with the project team to produce construction documents for a wide range of regional projects.
- Designing of steel and concrete bridge elements
- Development of construction plans and documents
- Developing Engineer’s Estimates
- Load Analysis of ordinary and complex bridge elements
- Knowledge of NYSDOT and NYS Thruway Authority Standards
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET- accredited college with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering
- With a PE or intent to sit for PE
- Knowledge of the use of Bentley OpenRoads and OpenBridge, and Microsoft Office
- Preferred experience in AASHTOWare BrDR, L-Pile, and MathCAD
- Ability to work within multiple design teams and meet demanding schedules
- Willing to work overtime
