Bridges Engineer

Burgess & Niple is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join their team in Mentor, Akron, or Erie, Ohio. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge design, a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing technical designs on transportation projects
• Mentoring and coaching junior staff on transportation design
• Developing unique and complex solutions to bridge problems for projects and pursuits
• Making presentations to clients with Client Service Managers (CSMs) to develop scopes and fees
• Managing tasks and technical designs on projects
• Collaborating with other offices on future pursuits and projects

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
• 5-10 years of related bridge design experience
• Good communication skills, organization skills, teamwork, and attention to detail
• Experience with Microstation or AutoCAD plan development
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
