Bridge Engineer (7 - 10 years)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leading analysis, design, and detailing local and state DOT bridge projects under the supervision of Senior level bridge engineers
  • Attending meetings and conferences when necessary/required
  • Other responsibilities may include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with concentration in structural engineering) from an ABET Accredited College
    • 7 to 10 years of experience
    • PREFERABLY have their EIT Certificate (or the ability to obtain within 12 months) - PE License is a plus
    • Experience with MicroStation, OpenBridge Modeler, AASHTOware, AutoCAD, and MathCAD is a plus
    • Experience with VDOT and local government projects and their design software is a plus
    • Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steel design
    • Strong communication and organization skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word & Excel
    • Desire to work in a team environment
