Bridge Design Technician

About the role

You will join the Bridge Project Development team in the Consultant Coordination and Preliminary Bridge Units within the Bridges and Structures Bureau. This position supports statewide transportation initiatives by providing CAD design, organizational, and data reporting expertise. Responsibilities

• Administer CAD quality assurance checks and provide electronic file support, including file naming conventions, content and modeling organization, CAD standards support, and documentation filing.
• Assist in tracking and reporting resources and projects by creating reports in the DOT’s scheduling system.
• Check and report on Project Asset ID folders to ensure completion of documentation for finished projects.
• Provide guidance on integrating 3D CONNECT design within the Bridge Bureau.
• Complete special assignments related to reporting and tracking for the Consultant Coordinator.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and six years of full-time experience in design drafting, cartography, photogrammetry, engineering survey, soils survey, land survey, or construction inspection.
• OR four years of full-time experience in the above fields plus two years of education or full-time experience where thirty semester hours of accredited college coursework equals one year of experience.
• OR four years of full-time experience in the above fields plus two years of education or full-time experience where thirty semester hours of an accredited vocational program in engineering technology, design drafting, engineering survey, soils survey, land survey, construction inspection, or cartography equals two years of experience.
• OR current, continuous state executive branch experience including eighteen months as a Design Technician Associate.
