About the role
A Bridge Design Project Engineer IV position is available in the Denver, CO office. This role involves performing transportation structure design analysis, including plan preparation of structures in Colorado and contributions to projects throughout the Western U.S. It offers involvement in a variety of challenging projects and a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
- BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- PE (Professional Engineer) licensure.
- Ability to pass MVR check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
- Professional engineering related work environment with heavy emphasis on design of highway bridges.
- BS, MS and 8 + years of related experience.
- Knowledge of industry standard computer software such as Civil3D, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, LEAP Bridge Concrete, MDX, CSiBridge, MIDAS, AASHTOWare etc.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, develop technical reports and document client communications.
- Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
- Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
- Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes.
