Bridge Associate I
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance with quantity and cost estimate calculations
- Participates in bridge design duties under the guidance of a licensed Structural Engineer
- Prepares and updates engineering calculations for design reports and final designs
- Produces and updates structure plans, or any other tasks related to contract documents
- Displays intermediate proficiency in various CAD and Microsoft Office programs to produce high-quality design documents, exhibits, computations, and reports
- Assists in reviewing shop drawings for compliance with contract plans
- Assists with bridge inspections and assessments
- Utilizes bridge analysis software to develop models for bridge design and load rating evaluations
- Supports preparation for client and project meetings
- Contributes to integration of three-dimensional modeling within the larger BIM process for bridge design
- Occasionally works on-site with clients under the direction of an Inspection Team Leader or Professional Engineer
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, with a focus on structures
- Masters of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or plans to obtain a Master's degree within two years
- 0-2 years of bridge design, analysis, inspection, and load rating experience
- Pursuing Engineer in Training (EIT) designation or ability to obtain within six months of hire
- Strong technical skills and communication abilities
- Familiarity with AASHTO, IDOT, and ISHTA design and construction standards preferred
