Breakfast Servers/Bartenders are responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests while ensuring top-notch customer service and professionalism. Some food prep responsibilities are included, in addition to server duties. Servers play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and guest satisfaction.
Schedule
- Breakfast shift starts at 6 AM; bartending shift starts at 5 PM.
- Weekend availability is required.
- Shifts consist of 2 breakfast shifts (Saturday and Sunday) and 2 evening bartender shifts (days to be determined) per week.
Responsibilities
- Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order.
- Attend to customers upon entrance to the restaurant.
- Present menus and be knowledgeable of menu contents, recipes, and restaurant offerings.
- Serve and assist customers with selecting food/beverages as needed.
- Verify guests’ identification to ensure they meet age requirements for alcohol consumption.
- Have basic knowledge of menu prices, composition of items, preparation techniques, and time of preparation.
- Be familiar with daily specials and offers to guests.
- Make suggestions based on guest preferences.
- Take and serve food/drinks orders.
- Arrange table settings and keep tables clean and tidy at all times.
- Deliver checks and collect payments.
- Return to each table periodically to ascertain whether additional items are desired.
- Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff.
- Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and customer service guidelines.
- Dress in appropriate event staff uniform at all times while maintaining a professional appearance.
- Refill condiments and server station supplies at the end of each shift.
- Perform other shift-closing tasks as determined by the Director of Food & Beverage.
- Adhere to all Health Department rules, regulations, and brand standards.
- Responsible for the security of guests, fellow employees, and hotel assets.
- Complete required brand training program.
- Perform any other duties requested by the General Manager to aid in better operation of the hotel, restaurant, lounge, and service to guests.
- Maintain confidentiality of company business functions, including financial status, customer/guest information, and employee issues.
- Act with the highest level of integrity in every decision.
Requirements
- Courteous and attentive to guests.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing on your feet, climbing stairs, and carrying heavy weights.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in writing, by telephone, and in person.
- Outgoing, pleasant personality.
- Neat in appearance at all times.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Honest and able to work well with others.
- Serving experience: 1 year (preferred).
- Customer service experience: 1 year (preferred).
- Food preparation experience: 1 year (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment.
- Finger dexterity to type, write, and work on a computer or micros machine.
- Must speak in a clear, understandable voice and hear at a basic level, and understand English.
- Able to bend, stretch arms overhead, and lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.
