Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down each morning's breakfast buffet
  • Maintain the safety and appearance of the buffet area
  • Clean the area in preparation for the next day
  • Replenish silverware, sugar caddies and condiments
  • Refill beverage containers
  • Mop, wipe, and sweep
  • Attend to special food orders or needs of the guests
  • Clear dirty plates from tables
  • Relay customer needs to the kitchen
  • Provide or refill drinks
  • Replenish food product throughout the shift
  • Examine food products and supplies to ensure quality and quantity
  • Restock bar, replenish pantry, clean counters, tables, utensils, and kitchen at the end of shift
  • Reset counters and tables at guests’ departure and at end of shifts
  • If charged breakfast is used, compute bill, accept payment, and track sales receipts
  • Manage the presentation of tableware so that it is accessible for the guests
  • Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations, and service areas
  • Obtain feedback, and effectively resolve customer problems and complaints
  • Provide assistance when needed to your fellow team, guests, and other departments

Requirements

  • Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, associate issues, etc.
  • Must be responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow associates, and hotel assets
  • Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in person
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Be organized, honest, works well with others, and has an outgoing personality
  • Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person
  • Maintain the highest degree of integrity and is humble, living by the Golden Rule
  • Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds
  • Be able to stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment
  • Have eyesight enabling vision both near and far
  • Be comfortable using a step stool or ladder
  • Be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
  • Be able to handle heat and stress
  • Have finger dexterity for operating equipment
  • Speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English
  • Be able to write
  • Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far
  • Be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
