About the role
Sage Hospitality Group is seeking a Breakfast Attendant to join the team at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Bethesda. This position offers an environment focused on learning and development, blending business and leisure in Bethesda.
Responsibilities
- Oversee breakfast service ensuring a quality dining experience with high food quality standards and excellent guest satisfaction.
- Prepare and serve breakfast food and beverage items, maintaining cleanliness and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Replenish food and beverage items during meal periods, keeping areas fully stocked.
- Ensure all food is kept at safe temperatures and tables are continuously cleaned.
- Greet guests, assist with service, and replenish coffee as needed.
- Build rapport with guests, learning about them and passing on sales leads.
- Maintain a clean breakfast area, store food, and remove trash.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures to enhance breakfast appeal.
- Maintain safety equipment and emergency procedures for guest and employee safety.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in similar positions for at least 3 months.
- High school graduate-level mathematical aptitude and knowledge of safe food handling processes.
- Experience dealing directly with the public and basic customer service skills.
- Competence in oral and written English.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs., bend, kneel, push carts, and maneuver in narrow areas.
- Continuous standing for 100% of the shift, continuous mobility, and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comprehension and literacy to read and understand records and special requests.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, follow verbal and written instructions, and communicate effectively.
- Highly organized and attentive to detail in crowded and noisy situations.
- Ability to deal with various customer service problems, including stressful and emotionally charged situations.
Qualifications
- Physical stamina for physically strenuous tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a 95% indoor environment, including exposure to freezer temperatures of -10 degrees.
Skills
- Mathematical aptitude for ordering and managing inventory.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
- Customer service skills for interacting with guests.
- Communication skills for greeting guests and passing on sales leads.
- Attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and adhering to safety protocols.
