Job Summary

The Breakfast and Public Area Attendant is responsible for setting up, serving, and maintaining the cleanliness of the breakfast period and public areas in a hotel. This role requires a friendly, professional, and efficient approach to ensure guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Set up and serve breakfast items, ensuring all items are stocked and available throughout the breakfast period.
  • Greet guests warmly and provide assistance with food and beverage selections.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dining area and kitchen prep stations.
  • Replenish food and beverage items as needed, including hot and cold items, condiments, and utensils.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations.
  • Setup and breakdown of breakfast service, including cleaning and storing equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all public areas of the hotel, including restrooms, lobbies, and elevators, to meet high standards of quality.
  • Monitor inventory and notify the supervisor of any shortages or reorder needs.
  • Perform additional cleaning projects as directed by the supervisor, such as carpet or tile and grout cleaning.
  • Follow brand standards and ensure all duties are performed to meet or exceed guest expectations.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills

  • Previous experience in food and beverage service or a customer-facing role is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to complete tasks with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods, up to 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull loads weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Exposure to kitchen and food service equipment, as well as cleaning chemicals.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays, based on hotel needs.
  • Primarily indoor work, cleaning public areas and back-of-house spaces.
