Job Summary
The Bread Expeditor 1 is the link between Bread Production and Delivery. The position is the first of three Bread Expeditor levels.
Compensation
$20.05/hour (non-exempt, overtime eligible). Comprehensive Benefits Package.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Is able to differentiate between and describe products
- Pulls orders, slices, and packages all products in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
- Maintains accurate counts of products
- Able to operate bread and bun slicers efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Meets quality and pace expectations as per training requirements
- Keeps delivery and expediting areas clean and orderly
- Follows HACCP training and understands responsibilities to maintain records and food safety goals
- Performs quality control of product, culls unusable loaves, and records the loss to the Expeditor Coordinator
- Communicates critical information to the Expeditor Coordinator or Manager in a timely manner including:
- Equipment issues
- Supply concerns
- Maintenance or cleaning needs
- Accurate counts of product and shortages due to culling
- Quality control information and trends
- Knows and acts in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Grand Central Bakery in all parts of their job
- Works collaboratively with a team. Communicates respectfully and professionally with teammates
- Delivers excellent customer service - follows the 3 steps to great service at all times
- Maintains competencies and demonstrate continuous application of these skills throughout the period of employment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Working knowledge of and ability to speak and understand basic English required
- Maintains a valid Food Handler's Card at all times and follows health department guidelines at all times
- Must demonstrate regular attendance by coming to work on scheduled working days and being on time
- HS diploma/GED preferred
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to function calmly and efficiently in high-pressure, multi-task, deadline-driven environment

- This position works in a building shared with production facilities is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat).
- This position walks up to the equivalent of two miles per shift. This position stands for 100% of the shift worked.
