About the role
At UFC Gym, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coach is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience, delivering great member service, and achieving revenue through Private and Small Group Training. This position requires a minimum of one day on the weekend.
Responsibilities
- Sell and conduct Private & Small Group Training with members.
- Assist members and encourage involvement in private training.
- Ensure accurate administration of client programs, measurement tracking, and workout programs.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and attentive for training appointments.
- Assist in revenue-generating activities, including complimentary workouts, seminars, and workshops.
- Achieve revenue objectives set by UFC Gym.
- Focus on changing lives through Service, Science, and Sales.
- Act as a brand ambassador of UFC Gym and its “Train Different” philosophy.
- Conduct safe and effective private Mixed Martial Arts training sessions.
- Maintain the organization and neat presentation of the fitness floor and training spaces.
- Follow all policies and procedures regarding payment transactions and guidelines in the UFC Gym Employee Handbook.
- Document daily workouts for liability with adherence to national certification standards.
- Be knowledgeable of club facility and services.
- Adhere to the agreed-upon schedule set by the Mixed Martial Arts Manager.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Private Training techniques from assessment to program design.
- Working knowledge of the dotFIT program and software.
- Knowledge of company policies, practices, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude with a strong customer service focus.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic record-keeping skills and proficiency with office equipment such as computers, calculators, fax, and photocopiers.
- Computer proficiency with basic skills in Word and Excel.
- Ability to work, set up, and execute successful weekends.
- Extroverted, self-motivated, and customer service-minded.
- Adhere to meal and rest break periods and clock in/out for all shift times.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Purple belt or higher in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Belt Certificate.
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coach lineage verification.
- Grappling tournament record (preferred).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- Current DotFIT certification (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of related teaching experience.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods.
- Physical effort required for daily duties includes lifting heavy weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing and walking.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 45+ pounds.
