About the role
This position involves leading music and other arts programs within the corps, planning and attending recitals, and organizing community activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead music and other arts programs as assigned within the corps.
- Plan and implement weekly music lessons using appropriate curriculum.
- Prepare music programs for corps concerts at the end of each school year.
- Encourage participants to achieve goals and develop musical abilities.
- Organize and participate in summer camps to enhance participants' talents and decision-making.
- Help plan and assist in summer music day camps.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
- Experience: At least two years of music experience working with children and adults.
- Performance experience is preferred.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in music theory and a primary instrument.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and flexibility in changing job situations.
