About the role
Our partner is a Caribbean-inspired spirits brand built around culture, connection, and the belief that wherever you are, Island Time is only a sip away. We are seeking energetic, professional, and sales-driven Brand Ambassadors to represent the brand at retail tastings, special events, on-premise activations, and other consumer-facing experiences. The Brand Ambassador is the face of the brand in the field. This role goes beyond pouring samples. Ambassadors educate consumers, communicate the brand's story, create a premium brand experience, support retail and distributor partners, and help convert consumer engagement into bottle sales.
Responsibilities
- Consumer Engagement & Sales
- Conduct scheduled tastings, promotional events, and consumer-facing activations.
- Proactively engage consumers rather than waiting for them to approach the tasting area.
- Introduce consumers to the brand's portfolio and make recommendations based on taste preferences.
- Clearly communicate key brand attributes, including Caribbean-inspired heritage, 100% corn-based vodka, coconut husk filtration, six-times distillation, gluten-free and vegan attributes, and the "It's Island Time" brand positioning.
- Convert consumer engagement into measurable bottle sales and encourage consumers to explore multiple SKUs when appropriate.
- Maintain awareness of promotional pricing, displays, and product availability within the account.
- Account Support
- Build positive relationships with store managers, retail associates, bartenders, account personnel, and distributor partners.
- Confirm products are properly displayed and accessible before beginning an activation.
- Alert management to low inventory, out-of-stocks, pricing issues, missing SKUs, or other execution opportunities.
- Support displays, secondary placements, cold-box placements, and approved merchandising initiatives when applicable.
- Represent the brand professionally with consumers, retailers, distributors, and account partners.
- Event Execution & Reporting
- Arrive on time and fully prepared for every scheduled activation.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized tasting or activation area.
- Properly display approved branding and promotional materials.
- Protect and properly manage company products, equipment, samples, and promotional materials.
- Complete required event recaps immediately following each activation.
- Accurately report bottles sold, products sampled, consumer interactions, inventory observations, account feedback, photos, competitive activity, and any operational or account issues.
- Use company-approved platforms and technology for scheduling, reporting, communication, and performance tracking.
- Brand Standards & Responsible Service
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive communication while representing the brand.
- Demonstrate energy, professionalism, confidence, hospitality, accountability, and teamwork.
- Never consume alcohol while working or report to an activation impaired.
- Treat consumers, account personnel, teammates, and competitors respectfully.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, local, retailer, and company requirements governing alcohol sampling and promotion.
- Verify legal drinking age when required, follow approved sample sizes, and never knowingly serve alcohol to a minor or individual who appears intoxicated.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a confident, outgoing personality.
- Previous brand ambassador, hospitality, retail, beverage, sales, promotional, or event experience preferred.
- Ability to initiate conversations, educate consumers, and comfortably ask for the sale.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently while following established company standards.
- Team-first attitude and willingness to support broader market objectives.
- Reliable transportation and reliable smartphone access for scheduling, communication, photography, dashboards, and reporting.
- Availability for evenings and weekends, when most activations occur.
- Ability to stand for approximately 3–4 hours, transport promotional materials and product, lift and carry approximately 25–40 pounds, and set up or break down tasting equipment.
- Previous beverage-alcohol experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong sales ability and professionalism.
Pay
Starting at $27.50 per hour, based on experience, performance, market, and assignment type.
