About the Role

The Branch Manager Trainee, in conjunction with existing Branch Management, is responsible for the profitable and safe functioning of the branch. This role involves learning and reviewing all aspects of branch operations, interpreting corporate goals, preparing and executing annual budgets, and planning and implementing sales and operational initiatives to achieve profitable business growth. Responsibilities include safety, personnel, facility, inventory, equipment, and overall business results.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Branch Management and branch personnel to drive profitability by utilizing company digital tools to maximize all aspects of branch performance.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, direction, and training to branch personnel. Recognize personnel problems and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure branch personnel have the tools necessary to achieve the highest levels of sales potential.
  • Learn how to effectively manage the branch Profit and Loss (P&L) to meet or exceed total sales, GE sales, net income, and asset management targets, and expense budgets.
  • Implement branch security and safety standards by conducting facility and asset inspections and taking corrective actions to support controls.
  • Remain knowledgeable and current about markets served, customers, vendors, and competitors.
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with existing and prospective customers and vendors; demonstrate excellent customer service and set an example for other staff.
  • Conduct/oversee inventory control procedures and ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
  • Make deliveries to branches/customers as required.
  • Perform other job functions within a branch when required, including but not limited to counter sales, preparing and filling orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material, and maintaining branch equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing sales strategies.
  • Sales and operations experience in electrical distribution or similar B2B industry required.
  • Experience in building and managing teams.
  • Experience managing P&Ls preferred.
  • Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
  • If required to make deliveries:
    • Must have a valid driver's license.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record.
    • Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
    • Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
    • Must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
  • High School or GED - Required.
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred.

Skills

  • Sales and service oriented, self-motivated, dependable, with excellent leadership and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as Solar Eclipse.
  • Ability to develop and coach a team.

Pay

For the state of Colorado only, the pay is $56,485.00 to $69,090.88, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.

Commission/Bonus Plan: Branch Pool Plan.
