About the Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Branch Manager (SAFE) for the National Branch Network as part of the Consumer Banking and Lending division. Branch Managers lead, manage, and develop a diverse team of direct and indirect reports, fostering a culture of engagement and accountability to drive business outcomes. This role involves leading a customer engagement process, coaching behaviors to enhance customer experience, driving business growth, and ensuring operational excellence. Responsibilities include executing policies and procedures in alignment with regulations, managing audit and escalation procedures, and allocating people and financial resources for the branch.
This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include offering/negotiating terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling-secured transaction. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations is required. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Individuals in this position must also meet Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z.
Responsibilities
- Coach, develop, and build a high-performing team to execute business strategies, achieve results, and drive growth.
- Resolve low to moderately complex issues regarding customer and employee experience, risk, and business growth to meet Branch Network objectives.
- Identify opportunities to make banking easier for customers through education and demonstration of digital options to support adoption and convenience.
- Lead the branch while engaging stakeholders, peers, and internal partners to build strong partnerships and deliver a customer-centric experience.
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent.
Requirements
- 5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 2+ years of leadership experience.

- Management experience including hiring, coaching, and developing direct reports.
- Ability to build and inspire a team where adaptability, collaboration, and accountability to performance are critical.
- Ability to analyze performance, understand strengths and opportunities, and execute a plan to empower employees to achieve business objectives.
- Exercise independent judgment and critical thinking skills to manage time, prioritize, and delegate tasks in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Experience and knowledge in coaching across customer segments, including affluent, high net worth, and small business.
- Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers, internal partners, and the community.
- Extensive experience in asking questions and identifying complex financial needs to provide relevant options to customers.
- Ability to lead a team to influence, educate, and connect customers to technology and share the value of digital banking.
- Knowledge and understanding of banking industry laws and regulations, compliance controls, risk management, and loss prevention.
- Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and employees.
- Relevant military experience including working with military protocol, enlisted evaluations, leadership reporting, or experience in personnel benefits management, processing orders, wartime readiness, human resources, or military recruiting.
Job Expectations
- Ability to work a schedule that may include most Saturdays.
- This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) website provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
- Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies, including financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess financial responsibility and credit fitness.
