Responsibilities
- Builds exceptional knowledge of the Credit Union products and services to advise and advocate for members, understand their needs, and provide solutions.
- Affords responsibility for the effective and efficient performance of branch sales and service operations.
- Ensures a high level of member satisfaction through the delivery of excellent service and execution of the daily operations of the Credit Union's Member Experience protocols according to established standards.
- Supports the achievement of the retail branch office sales goals through the personal selling of all offered financial products, including new accounts, consumer and real estate loans, and identifies additional cross-sell opportunities.
- Provides leadership in optimizing operational excellence, including workforce management, loan quality, cash management, and branch audits to enhance the member experience.
- Aids the Branch Manager in developing and reviewing the budget to drive branch profitability.
- Ensures branch security protocols are followed.
- Opens and closes the branch in accordance with set hours and tests security equipment.
- Under the supervision of the Branch Manager supports efforts with hiring, training, and coaching of all staff members, resulting in effective resource allocation and a motivated staff committed to continuous improvement and strong teamwork.
- Proactively seeks new business relationships, including a network of business owners, consumer prospects, finance professionals and community leaders.
- Develops strategies with Logix business partners and marketing to help expand segment and market share and drive branch profitability.
- Promotes the Credit Union’s brand identity and goodwill within the communities that it serves.
- Adheres to credit union policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations.
- Acquires and applies skills in preparation for advancement to a branch manager position.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (4 years)
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years, preferably in the financial services industry with prior experience as a banker or loan officer.
- Knowledge, Skills & Ability: Superior customer service skills, excellent oral & written communication skills, thorough knowledge of products, services, insurance of accounts, account vesting’s, consumer loan products and related requirements, credit union documents, reports, policies and procedures, real estate lending principles and practices, comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing branch profitability, including revenue generation, cost management, and operational efficiency, ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently, maintaining high productivity under pressure, must obtain the following licenses within 6 months of entering the position: Notary License, Teller Training, FSR certification, New Accounts and Membership Officer Authority, Consumer Lending, Real Estate Lending Training, Mortgage Loan Originator with the NMLS, Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC), and completion of Operational Excellence training, demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of sales management, coaching, leadership and ongoing staff motivation, background in financial services, including an understanding of consumer and real estate lending practices and processes, working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, experience using the Symitar Data system is considered a plus.
