About the Role
The Branch Manager is responsible for the growth and development of their team, including themselves and any UMCU Team Member they may have an influence on (not limited to their direct reports). They oversee the coordination of all phases of branch operations, including staffing, security, cash handling, delivery of products and services, and the physical appearance of the branch. This role requires maintaining a positive work environment through open communication, weekly huddles, and empowering each team member.
Responsibilities

- Ensure UMCU's culture is intact within their branches
- Take ownership of the branch and team including selection and promotion, retention, recognition, engagement, direction, performance management, corrective action, job responsibilities, training and development of direct reports
- Motivate the team to reach UMCU objectives by creating a fun and competitive environment
- Conduct formal team member meetings monthly; provide performance feedback and recognition
- Conduct department/branch meetings on a weekly basis
- Hold themselves and their team accountable and provide feedback regularly
- Ensure they and their team provide high service standards to members and internal team members
- Plan and manage the workload of the branch team
- Perform duties of branch team members as needed
- Work in tandem with other departments of the Credit Union to enhance member service and ensure teamwork and internal cooperation
- Create a team environment that facilitates engagement and team member participation
- Review, evaluate, recommend, and implement operational improvements
- Manage all cash handling, negotiable instruments, balancing daily work and reconciliation of branch accounts
- Initiate, write, maintain, and update branch procedures
- Monitor branch performance using metrics, statistics and analysis
- Manage the daily operation, reconciliation and problem resolution of the branch GLs
- Manage branch facility to meet UMCU's service expectations
- Undertake management responsibilities of overseeing the branch team including selection and promotion, direction, performance management, corrective action, training and development
- Research vendors or serve on committees for new products and services
- Volunteer in various activities sponsored by UMCU within the surrounding communities the credit union serves
- Manage credit union security procedures
- Maintain knowledge of and follow all credit union policies and procedures regarding BSA, OFAC, U.S. Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, S.A.F.E Act, CFPB regulations and Customer Identification Program
- Complete all UMCU required trainings and attend and actively participate in leadership camps
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or actively pursuing a bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial institution is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong technical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Maintains a growth mindset
