Branch Manager

About the role

Washington Trust is seeking an experienced leader to manage our new branch in Bristol, RI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking supervision, customer relationship management, and team leadership, with a focus on driving growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage employees to achieve branch and bank growth and profitability.
• Coach, mentor, and motivate staff to optimize sales and customer service performance.
• Originate consumer loan applications and work closely with business partners to provide referrals for small business products, residential loans, and key services.
• Ensure adherence to operational, security, and compliance guidelines for branch safety.
• Represent the bank at community and business events.
• Perform additional branch functions as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of supervisory and banking experience.
• Proven ability to lead by example, managing a customer base from cash handling to financial advising.
• Strong leadership skills to guide a team toward common goals.
• Organizational skills and effective time management.
• Understanding of lending/credit functions, including consumer, residential, and small business loans.
• Knowledge of all bank products, policies, and procedures.
• Outgoing personality with strong sales management skills.
• Bilingual language skills strongly preferred.

Pay

A good-faith, reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $115,000 per year. The actual offer will depend on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, and education.
