About the Role
The Branch Manager will oversee operations at our Dallas, TX (Farmers Branch) location, which includes a warehouse and storefront. We serve customers ranging from small-scale model makers and prototypers to industrial accounts like bronze foundries and concrete casters. You will manage a team, drive sales, and ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage branch operations, including warehouse and storefront.
- Maintain an optimal work environment by directing personnel and managing resources.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as sales revenue, inventory levels, collections, and aged receivables.
- Communicate issues affecting sales, operations, or personnel to the Operations Manager and senior management.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors, audit and approve vendor invoices for payment.
- Data mine and research new sales leads, providing input to the Outside Sales Representative.
- Interview and hire personnel as needed, and manage employee attendance for payroll.
- Cross-train all personnel on all functions through personal training, written procedures, and coaching.
- Temporarily perform the duties of Inside Sales Technician or Shipping/Receiving Clerk as needed.
- Occasional travel for management meetings, trade shows, and seminars.
- Demonstrate and provide technical advice on materials sold by the company (training provided).
Requirements
- BA degree and/or 5-7 years of experience in a management or retail management position.
- Proficiency in the use of all materials sold by the company.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to prioritize workflow.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical skills and basic accounting knowledge.
- Ability to manage others and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starting, well-organized, high-energy, and willingness to learn.
- Enjoy working with your hands and providing technical advice.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform moderate physical work, including lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally and 10-20 pounds frequently.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairwells within a 60-second time frame, a minimum of 10 times per shift.
- Ability to be trained to operate a forklift.
- Ability to handle stress.
Additional Requirements
- Employment is contingent on passing a background check, drug test, and physical.
- Valid driver’s license or state ID with a clean driving record.
- Signature on a company drug-free policy contract.
- Completion of product training by Smooth-On, Inc., within three months of employment.
- Demonstrated aptitude, understanding, and proficiency with company products relative to customer applications.
