About the Role
This position is divided into three key areas of responsibility:
- Business/Finance (40%): Maintain a profitable yearly budget, an acceptable rate of return on sales after incentive compensation, and healthy cash flow.
- Sales (30%): Oversee overall branch activities to serve customers within Satellite’s principles, ensuring the company’s reputation and brand continue to flourish.
- Personnel Development (30%): Invest time and resources in developing personnel to meet branch objectives.
Responsibilities
Business/Finance
- Deliver and manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) results for the branch.
- Create and maintain the yearly budget in a timely fashion.
- Meet or exceed pre-tax profit plan and manage expenses to plan or business level.
- Meet or exceed Net Service Fleet Expense (NSFE) targets.
- Maintain market-based pricing for rentals and sales.
- Manage assets and new capital dollars to deliver the desired ROI for the branch.
- Meet or exceed utilization plan and quality standards.
- Ensure "ready to go" targets are met.
- Through the Operations Manager, oversee rental fleet cleaning, repair, delivery, service calls, and onsite installation services.
- Assist in developing annual sales forecasts, expense plans, and capital budgets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Sales
- Monitor competition and enforce effective business strategies.
- Build the Satellite brand in the market area.
- Meet or exceed sales and rental targets.
- Direct, train, and manage all branch Sales Representatives.
- Develop and execute sales and marketing plans.
- Monitor projects and programs post-implementation and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Personnel Development
- Hire, coach, train, and develop sales, operations, and administrative staff.
- Ensure personnel have the tools required to perform their jobs satisfactorily, including approved plans and detailed budgets.
- Personally inspect jobs to assess progress and strategies employed by personnel.
- Lead branch employees in implementing strategies for success.
- With the Operations Manager, ensure all personnel perform duties safely and take precautions to avoid work-related accidents.
- Monitor hiring to ensure only individuals committed to safe working practices are employed.
- Ensure employees are trained to follow all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all employees understand the company’s mission, objectives, and their departmental goals.
- Reinforce respectful communication and resolve conflicting objectives.
- Monitor the gains-sharing program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Branch Manager directs subordinate supervisors and oversees all sales and administrative staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
- 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven leadership and managerial skills.
- Experience recruiting and developing employees.
- Experience with accountability for P&L performance.
- Demonstrated successful personal sales experience.
- Strong desire to build a successful business.
- Experience in a rental or leasing business with repeat customers is desired.
- Experience managing assets in a $15–20M+ range.
- Experience managing revenue in a $10M+ range.
- Skill in conducting and documenting inquiries, investigations, audits, and reviews.
