About the role
Responsible for efficient, effective management of a full-service credit-union office and for maintaining and growing business relationships within the community.
Responsibilities
- Promote the credit union within the community.
- Drive business development by initiating contact with potential companies or community businesses and their employees through visits, mailings, and phone calls.
- Make loans to creditworthy members and eligible prospective members: review applications, run credit reports, verify information, analyze capacity, book collateral values, make credit decisions, or refer to the Loan Review Committee with recommendations.
- Ensure the office is open and ready to conduct business each business day; assume overall administrative responsibility for branch operations.
- Maintain a neat, clean appearance of the office and grounds; determine or recommend equipment changes.
- Lead by example in all duties; ensure the branch reflects an efficient, orderly, and professional organization.
- Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and potential: hire, assign jobs, monitor performance, coach, and counsel.
- Monitor performance for compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist with clerical operations in lending and teller functions as needed.
- Adhere to all credit-union policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience as a consumer loan officer for a credit union or other financial institution (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent; four-year college degree preferred.
- Competent computer skills and use of standard office equipment.
- Ability to meet, speak, and deal effectively with people in a professional manner.
- Comfortable and effective in promoting credit-union services and products.
- Willingness to participate in community events and work extended hours when required.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Physical requirements: ability to operate normal office equipment and lift up to 25 pounds.
