Branch Manager

About the role

The Branch Manager oversees all aspects of customer service for inside, outside, and retail sales, and manages inventory control and warehouse operations in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, coach, mentor, train, and support all direct reports, including Territory Sales Managers, Inside Sales Associates, Parker Store and warehouse manager, and staff.
• Manage EBITDA performance to meet company requirements.
• Coordinate sales team collaboration with Technology Product Managers.
• Manage margins and costs to achieve net profitability goals.
• Provide user support and solutions for the ERP system (Prophet 21).
• Report on business progress, identify needs and concerns to the executive team, and participate in executive meetings.
• Develop and implement programs to meet customer requirements.
• Assist in managing supplier relationships.
• Ensure the highest level of customer service and ethics are followed.
• Train staff to provide customer support with technical product information and prepare thorough and accurate quotes, order acknowledgements, samples, and supporting sales literature.
• Generate and maintain accurate documentation, including quotations.
• Address and resolve all customer requests and/or complaints using a positive, creative approach.
• Collaborate with appropriate departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Promote employee teamwork, motivation, and recognition.
• Encourage positive problem-solving approaches.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and maintain personnel records.
• Address and resolve personnel issues.
• Develop ideas to improve customer service, systems, and procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Champion implementation of company programs and policies.
• Ensure compliance with all company rules, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to strict safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Experience or education in business administration is desired.
• Excellent written and oral communication and strong relationship-building skills.
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs.
• Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 is a plus.
• Strong listening skills, above-average reasoning ability, and minimal mistakes.
• Ability to quickly assimilate product knowledge and skills.
• Experience with industrial distribution, preferably fluid power components; familiarity with industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings (especially Parker Hannifin) is a plus.
• Regular and punctual attendance is required; must be physically present in the office due to collaborative team environment.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people and personalities.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, in accordance with company guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Frequent lifting up to 70 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, constant walking/standing on cement flooring, and climbing ladders as needed.
• Work environment may include warehouses with moving equipment, fluctuating temperatures, and inventory in various storage arrangements, as well as office work, manufacturing, machine shops, agricultural operations, and other customer business operations.
