About the Role

The Branch Manager oversees member service, sales operations, branch operations, employee engagement, and branch profitability while delivering a seamless member experience. This role creates exceptional member experiences through motivated and knowledgeable team members and leads successful sales and service initiatives that deepen member relationships and support organizational growth. The position plays a key role in community involvement, business development, talent development, achieving branch and corporate goals, and ensuring operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of service, professionalism, and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations, ensuring team members identify members' financial needs and recommend appropriate products and services while adhering to operational and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop a positive working environment and mentor staff to succeed.
  • Seek out business development opportunities to enhance IHMVCU's presence in the community by building relationships with local organizations and businesses.
  • Attain branch and corporate scorecard goals through observation coaching, effective feedback, and performance management practices.
  • Support branch operations by processing financial transactions, opening deposit accounts, servicing existing accounts, interviewing loan applicants, processing documents, and resolving complex member account matters.
  • Deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for members and team members aligned with IHMVCU’s brand promise.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, and best practices to enhance member experience, operational efficiency, and branch performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; at least four years of credit union or related financial services experience.
  • Management experience within a financial services environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
  • Proven success in business development and community involvement, cultivating and deepening relationships while establishing a new client base.
  • Thorough knowledge of relationship building, products, and services, and ability to apply credit union policies and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures while coordinating multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent the credit union positively both internally and externally.
  • Ability to demonstrate IHMVCU’s culture and core values.
  • Sound decision-making skills balancing exceptional member service with the organization’s reputation and strategic goals.
  • Familiarity with technology and ability to adapt quickly to new systems and digital service channels.
  • Regional travel to assist other branch locations may occasionally be required.
  • Must possess or attain CUNA FiCEP/CCUFC designation within the first year of employment.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting Demands: Up to 50 lbs.
  • Visual Acuity: Required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects or parts, using measurement devices, and assembling or fabricating parts at close distances.
