About the role
The Branch Manager will direct and supervise staff and operational activities in the assigned branch location, promote a positive bank image within the community, ensure delivery of quality customer service, and achieve sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for maximizing branch revenues, deposits, and loans while minimizing operating losses.
- Performs and holds staff accountable for business development, loan generation, and referrals to other lines of business (e.g., Mortgage, Wealth Management).
- Maintains and develops relationships with existing and potential clients through outreach.
- Deploys resources to optimize individual and team performance.
- Monitors employee activities to provide coaching, ensure work quality, exceptional customer service, and adherence to schedules.
- Ensures branch compliance with bank policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
- Prioritizes, manages, and communicates promotional campaigns and product initiatives.
- Represents the bank in local community organizations.
- Performs general management duties, including hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, or terminations.
- Responsible for staff development, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, and meeting sales goals.
- Develops programs and reward systems to increase morale and reduce turnover.
- Identifies training needs and implements plans to address them.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree or 3–5 years of relevant branch operations and/or proven sales negotiation experience.
- Knowledge of regulatory/compliance laws, teller operations, and consumer/commercial loans.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, problem-solve, and supervise a team.
- General knowledge of banking products and computer software (e.g., MS Office).
- Excellent customer service, written and oral communication, and presentation skills.
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel if required to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret documents as required.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required (accommodations available without undue hardship).
