About the role

Manages and influences the profitability of the assigned branch with a focus on building member relationships. Expands the sales culture, provides leadership, and directs branch staff activities to achieve sales goals. Utilizes a consultative sales approach, conducts on-site business visits, and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures while promoting high morale and team spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a sales leader; communicates sales philosophy, conducts weekly sales meetings, and ensures the branch meets or exceeds sales goals.
  • Reviews sales objectives with staff, monitors performance, coaches on quality and accuracy, and provides positive reinforcement and recognition.
  • Oversees staff hiring, scheduling, training, and development; identifies corrective actions for substandard performance and works with HR on disciplinary actions, including discharge if warranted.
  • Communicates frequently with staff through one-on-one sessions, meetings, and emails; addresses and resolves employee complaints and conflicts.
  • Attends salary staff meetings, participates in discussions, and suggests improvements for branch effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensures branch consumer loan applications and closings follow established policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Marketing Department to gain visibility through community relations events.
  • Participates in the implementation and testing of technological enhancements, including system upgrades and electronic delivery channels.
  • Resolves high-level member inquiries and escalates complaints to the SVP of People & Retail Delivery if necessary.
  • Supervises branch audits and recommends operational changes as needed.
  • Ensures branch compliance with all regulations and security procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls.
  • Opens and closes the branch facility, participates in Saturday and holiday rotations, and monitors security devices.
  • Coordinates maintenance for the building, grounds, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of progressive management experience in the financial industry with proven results.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Finance, or Business is a plus.
  • Sales and service skills, along with planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adhere to internal policies and external regulations set forth by the NCUA.
  • Adaptability to change and commitment to service standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Skills

  • High level of trust, diplomacy, courtesy, and tact in interactions with staff, members, and external contacts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Board of Directors, members, vendors, auditors, attorneys, law enforcement, and business associations.
  • Ability to work extended hours to achieve organizational or sales goals.
  • Quick learner of core processing systems (e.g., Symitar) and general business software.
  • Professional image and courteous communication with members and colleagues.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills, including data collection and analysis.

Certifications & Licenses

  • Must be bondable.
  • Internal annual compliance testing required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time with occasional exertion of 10+ pounds of force.
  • Professional work environment with typically moderate noise levels.
