Operational Responsibilities
- Organizes and directs the day-to-day operations of a branch.
- Oversees the implementation and oversight of all patient care programs for a branch and achievement of both clinical and administrative outcomes.
- Oversees for the financial performance of the branch.
- Ensures adequate staffing levels at branch locations to meet patient needs.
- Safeguards compliance of current Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement regulations and changes.
- Identifies and reports potential payment/coverage problems.
Compliance Responsibilities
- Affirms accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and adherence to Medicare guidelines of all documentation.
- Guarantees compliance with the requirements of state licensure, Medicare certification, and any other applicable oversight agencies through policy and procedure development, staff education, and ongoing monitoring activities.
- Demonstrates familiarity and understanding of national standards of care, state licensure, and federal conditions of participation.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Patient’s Bill of Rights and upholds patient’s rights.
Leadership & Professionalism
- Directs all aspects of operations and care delivery in accordance with the mission and values, legal and regulatory requirements, payer and accreditation standards, customer expectations, and agency policy.
- Approves and submits time and attendance files to payroll for processing, including final review of inputs (e.g., visits, mileage, hours worked, etc.) and corresponding rates (e.g., hourly rate, mileage reimbursement rate, pay-per-point scale, etc.).
- Implements the organization’s strategic and growth-related plans.
- Conducts staff performance appraisals accurately and in accordance with Elara Caring policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the changing needs of the business.
What is Required?
- A degree in Healthcare or related field is required.
- One to two years of experience in supervisory or administrative home health or related program is required.
- To the extent a Branch Director is the designated Alternate Administrator for a provider number, certain state specific qualifications may apply.
- The ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment.
- Two to three years of home health experience is preferred.
- Advanced clinical skills are required.
- Advanced functional business and management skills including time management, human and financial resources, managing budgets, etc., are required.
- Proficiency with computer and technology programs including MS office Suite, Homecare Homebase, and Workday is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- The ability to develop trusted relationships and networks across multiple levels including supervisory and leadership is required.
