About the role

The Eligibility Specialist strengthens Michigan families by ensuring that each person/family that applies for public assistance receives the type and level of assistance that they are eligible for, assessing needs and providing appropriate information and referrals, providing information about MDHHS goals, and encouraging and guiding families in their efforts to become self-supporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure each person/family that applies for public assistance receives the type and level of assistance they are eligible for
• Assess the needs of each person/family and give them appropriate information and make referrals and/or contacts to persons/agencies to help them meet their needs
• Provide all families with information about the expectations and goals of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS)
• Encourage and guide families in their efforts to become self-supporting

Pay: Pay negotiations within the classification pay range will only be considered based on your current employment earnings and/or relevant position specific experience.
