Pay

$21.01 - $24.72/hour based on experience level. Positions and benefits are regularly benchmarked to remain competitive.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures on machines using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
• Load workpieces or material into machines.
• Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.
• Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications using micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
• Examine completed workpieces for defects.
• Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications such as materials, locations of cutting lines, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Ensure all parts are labeled and accompanied by job travelers with correct parts and record counts.
• Organize program numbers.
• Verify pieces with quality (or use the "buddy system" if quality is unavailable).
• Manage tooling needs.
• Start machines, monitor operations, and record necessary data.
• Test and adjust machine speeds or actions according to product specifications using gauges and hand tools.
• Position, align, and secure workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or dies.
• Perform other duties as directed by a Supervisor or Operations Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate).
• 1-2 years of press machine operation experience.
• Knowledge of production and processing, including basic machine operation.
• Proficiency in mathematics (arithmetic, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Physical Requirements

• Performing physical activities requiring considerable use of arms, legs, and whole-body movement (e.g., lifting, walking, stooping, handling materials).
• Ability to lift and move 50 lb parts or fixtures.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and reach overhead to assemble or move products.
• Must be fit for duty and free of adverse effects from drugs or alcohol, including prescribed or over-the-counter substances that may impair job performance (e.g., drowsiness, impaired reflexes).
• Ability to stand and work on your feet for an entire shift.
