Core Values: Courage, Kindness, Honor, Purpose Position Description The Boys Varsity Assistant Tennis Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for assisting in the overall management of the varsity boys tennis team under the leadership of the Head Varsity Tennis Coach. This position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork in tennis. This position requires travel and work on weekends and evenings. Work Requirements The Boys Varsity Assistant Tennis Coach must exhibit high standards of professionalism and communication. They must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges of working with high school students. They must have the ability to interact with students, parents, and staff, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. Functions & Responsibilities Support the coordination and supervision of the Boys Varsity Tennis programEnsures that Branson and League policies, rules and regulations regarding the conduct of athletic activities and athletes are followedWorks with the Athletic Department to plan and organize practices and games schedulesMaintains a safe environment for student athletes at all timesDevelop an appropriate training program and practice schedulesEnsures the regular supervision of student athletes at home and away games and ensures appropriate behaviorEnsures that student athletes adhere to training rules, class and grade requirements, and rules of behavior on the court, in conditioning, and in the locker roomInteracts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, parents, and officials. Resolves all conflicts in a professional mannerProfessionally represents Branson in all interactions with the community at largeEnsures the proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniformsMakes recommendations regarding the purchase of uniforms, equipment, and supplies. Also manages inventoryMaintains necessary records and completes Paycom timecard within the specified timeframes and mannerMaintains appropriate certifications and training hours as requiredAttends work regularly and is punctual to all practices and gamesObtain advance approval for the Athletic Director for all team-related expendituresManages other duties as assigned Position Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferredOne to two years of experience as a tennis coachCPR Certified through American Red CrossMust have and maintain a valid driver's licenseExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritizeExperience working and communicating with diverse groups of peopleAbility to act professionally and keep students' records confidentialAbility to make decisions and handle conflictsProblem-solving skills and creativity Physical Requirements Heavy work.
